Pentax's first new film camera in two decades reimagines the half-frame format — capturing two vertical 17×24mm frames within a single 35mm exposure, doubling the shot count on every roll. Held in its default orientation, it captures portrait-format images with proportions closer to a phone screen than a traditional landscape negative.

A 25mm f/3.5 lens, three elements in three groups with HD coating, gives a 37mm-equivalent field of view through six zone-focus settings rather than autofocus. Magnesium alloy top and bottom covers add real heft, and a manual film-advance lever recreates the tactile ritual that digital photography removed.
