Part of Roland's pocket-sized AIRA Compact line, the S-1 recreates the classic SH-101's sound through Roland's Analog Circuit Behavior technology — the same engine behind their plug-in emulations — while adding 4-voice polyphony the original mono synth never had. A 64-step sequencer with velocity, gate length, and probability controls handles composition directly on the unit.

Oscillator drawing and chop tools let you sculpt entirely new waveforms beyond the SH-101 emulation, and built-in delay, reverb, and chorus round out the sound without external gear. It links via sync and MIDI to other AIRA Compacts like the T-8 Beat Machine, and a rechargeable battery gives roughly 4.5 hours of portable runtime.
