An interchangeable XYH-5 mic capsule — matched unidirectional condensers in a shock-mounted housing — handles up to 140dB SPL, loud enough for a jet aircraft from 200 feet away, without distorting.

Two XLR/TRS combo inputs add external mics or line-level sources alongside the built-in capsule, and a Backup-Record function automatically captures a duplicate track at reduced gain as insurance against clipped peaks.
