The Mega Sg brings the same FPGA philosophy to Sega's 16-bit era — total hardware-level accuracy for Genesis, Mega Drive, and Master System cartridges, with no software emulation involved. An Altera Cyclone V chip recreates the Motorola 68000 and Zilog Z80 processors that powered the originals, down to the Yamaha YM2612 sound chip.

A Master System cartridge adapter and Sega CD compatibility pad ship in the box, extending the console's reach across nearly the entire Sega catalog from one unit. It includes the previously unreleased title Ultracore, and outputs at full 1080p with extensive video customization for matching the look of an old CRT.
