Designed by George Nelson in 1947–49 and still produced by Vitra under license from the Nelson estate, the Night Clock strips the dial down to bare hands against a clear acrylic face — no numerals, since Nelson's research found people read clocks by the relative position of hands rather than numbers anyway. A smooth brass case gives it real weight for something this compact.

Every Vitra reissue comes from the original design documents held in the Vitra Design Museum's Nelson archive, produced with a modern high-grade quartz movement rather than the mechanical mechanisms period pieces used.
